A French and Australian dual citizen, Dr.Guibourg Delamotte is Professor of Political science at the Japanese studies department of the French Institute of Oriental Studies (Inalco). She is a Research Fellow at the French Research Institute on East Asia (IFRAE, CNRS).
She is also a Distinguished Research Fellow of the Japan Forum on International Relations (JFIR) and an Adjunct Fellow at ICAS, Temple University Japan, Tokyo. In June- July 2023, she is Visiting Fellow, RCAST and 連携研究者, Tokyo College. October 2021 to Septembre 2022, she was a Guest Lecturer at the University of Tokyo, Visiting Research Fellow of the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST, University of Tokyo). She was NIDS Fellow of the National Institute of Defense Studies in 2010. She is a member of the Europe-Japan Advanced Research Network (EJARN, based in Stockholm School of Economics).
She graduated from the University of Oxford (M.Jur), Paris 2-Panthéon-Assas (M. Law), Inalco (M.Japanese), and Sciences Po Paris (BA, Master in comparative area studies). She defended her PhD (Shibusawa-Claudel Award, 2008) at EHESS and her Habilitation to supervise research at Sciences Po. Both were published (PUF, 2010 and ENS Ed., 2022 respectively).
