Doctorates
École doctorale n°265 Langues, littératures et sociétés du monde brings together 15 research units, 8 host teams and 7 Joint Research Units (UMR). It supervises the theses of over 300 doctoral students in the various units, directed by more than 100 teachers and HDR researchers. Its mission is to lead the scientific life of the establishment within the framework of doctoral studies, and to ensure the scientific, pedagogical and administrative follow-up of students enrolled in thesis programs.
The doctoral curriculum
The doctorate is generally prepared over 3 years within the doctoral school, in one of the research units and under the supervision and responsibility of one or more thesis directors. Administrative registration is renewed each year, on the advice of the doctoral school board, until the thesis is defended. No interruption of studies is authorized except for health or maternity reasons.
Obligations
Doctoral students must regularly attend the doctoral training provided by research units and the doctoral school (seminars, study days, colloquia, etc.) and participate in doctoral days each year.
Diploma
The doctoral degree is conferred after public defense of the thesis.
