The President and the entire staff of Inalco wish to pay tribute to her memory and offer her family and friends their most sincere condolences.

Professeur agrégée from 1996 to 1998, then maître de conférence at Inalco and head of the Japanese Studies department until 2018, we remember a colleague who was very committed to her department.

Always attentive to her students, she combined high standards and empathy in her teaching practice. She was also an interpreter and member of numerous juries, contributing to the international influence of Japanese culture and language. Mrs. Chikako Thoyer was much appreciated by her fellow research teachers, as well as by many colleagues outside the Department of Japanese Studies, who pay tribute to her today.

The funeral will take place on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in the privacy of the family.
