The career path of Serge Cholleyis doubly exceptional.

On the one hand he has been marked bycommand in operations, crisis management, innovation, the design and management of major transformation plans, international relations and teaching, with a passion and a common denominator, aeronauticsand space.

Simultaneously his career path was strongly marked by his passage to Inalco (1989-1991). Attaché de l'Air at the French Embassy in Beijing from 1993 to 1996, after serving as Officier traitant Chine at the Direction du Renseignement Militaire, he returned as Chef of the French Military Mission from 2012 to 2014. He is thus the distant successor of the legendary General Jacques Guillermaz, stationed in China during the Second World War, known as much for his qualities as an officer and diplomat as a Sinologist.

He is also the author of the book "China's Space Ambitions " (2012).

Serge Cholley was elevated to the dignity of Commandeur de la Légion d'honneur in 2018.

He is therefore the most senior officer trained by Inalco who will retrace for us the tale of defense attachés in China.
