1st semester

The Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac organizes seminars in collaboration with several higher education institutions, including Inalco.

This year, we invite you to attend the seminar organized by Ms. Tatiana Bottineau, a member of CERLOM and a specialist in Russia.

The theme of the seminar is the study of the verbal act as a fact of language and as a product of language. The verbal act is part of a space of interaction where intersubjective, social and intercultural links unfold through language practice, which can be its source, instrument or stake.
The logical and linguistic formalization of data invites us to apprehend the verbal act as a complex structure whose properties are determined by the relationship between the elements that make it up. The study of a verbal act from the perspective of pragmatic semantics aims to establish the degree of its effectiveness and the conditions for successful verbal interaction.
The seminar proposes to broaden the formal and pragmatic approach and, on the basis of the study of language/language and sentence/statement relations, to apprehend the expression of implicit meanings conveyed by the forms used and, in particular, by discourse markers. These language units are traces of the expression of otherness in the representation of the world, of the divergence of points of view and of the different modes of presence of "I" as an enunciative instance.
The French data will serve as a common corpus that will be supplemented with data from world languages, according to the participants' skills.

Student Pass
The Musée du quai Branly- Jacques Chirac Student Pass gives access to teaching activities for one academic year. It will only be issued once the student's enrolment has been confirmed by the home university. In the event of loss or theft, a duplicate will be sent by post.
