Teaching

The specialist recruited will be called upon to teach at all three levels of the bachelor's degree, as well as at master's level.

In this context, he/she will teach introductory courses in sociolinguistics for students new to the discipline, as well as more specialized courses, taking into account the extremely numerous - and varied - situations of plurilingualism that exist on the African continent: diglossia, vehicularization/vernacularization of languages, creolization phenomena. The specialist recruited will pay particular attention to urban space as a place of intra- and inter-linguistic mixing and to the practices that result.

He/she will carry out part of his/her service within the department's transversals but may also teach transversal courses at INALCO's bachelor and master levels.

The candidate must master an African language.

The candidate will be expected to invest in the life and functioning of the department, in reflection on the evolution of training courses, as well as in the supervision of students.
