Campaign in progress - Immersion of Inalco students
The immersion in the country whose language or civilization we are learning is an absolutely fundamental stage of learning, not to mention the attractiveness factor that it represents for all the Inalco courses.
In this we are not inventing anything. As far back as the Ecole des Jeunes de Langues, Inalco's precursor, in the 17th century, future drogmans were required to spend an entire year in Arabic and another in Turkish scales.
This has been confirmed for us by the student immersion scholarship program set up by the Foundation from its inception. It concerns Persian, Turkish and Siamese.
Our wish is that, over the long term, every student at Inalco should be offered an immersion opportunity during their course of study, whatever their language of learning.
It's thanks to your support that we'll achieve this.
Inalco is 9,000 students and 103 languages taught. Our goal: to remove the obstacles to mobility for as many students as possible by stepping up our scholarship program.
Actions already implemented by the Inalco Foundation
In 2022, the Foundation launched its program in 3 geographical areas: the Persian world with Tajikistan, the Indian world, Thailand. From 2023, we aim to extend the fellowship program to more of the geographical areas covered by Inalco, starting with its historical areas: the Iranian world, the Arab world, East Asia (China, Japan, Korea...).
We aim to contribute an average of €2,000 to each winner's immersion for 1 semester of study abroad.
Awarded on the basis of merit, following selection on the basis of a portfolio by a jury made up of teachers and representatives of Inalco and the Foundation, it enables students to finance the purchase of their plane ticket as well as part of the costs on site (accommodation, food, study-related expenses, cultural activities, etc.).

Use of funds
Your donations will help finance immersion scholarships for Inalco students selected on the basis of merit. Students selected on the basis of merit will receive their scholarship directly upon arrival in the country of immersion.
It is possible to indicate in the donation form a geographical preference for the targeting of your donation.
Depending on the amounts collected in view of the needs expressed in terms of immersion, your donations may eventually be allocated by the Inalco Foundation to students wishing to go to other geographical areas less well provided for.
