- Dr. Sharif Harir, Sudanese anthropologist, writer and political figure from Darfur whose work has long focused on ethnicity, conflict, state formation and regional politics in Sudan, particularly in Darfur.
- Dr. Mohamed Abdelsalam Babiker, Sudanese legal scholar, human rights expert and Associate Professor of International Law at the University of Khartoum, whose work focuses on human rights, international humanitarian law, conflict and justice in the Horn of Africa.
