Teaching

Language teaching.

The department needs to recruit a teacher-researcher who is fluent in French and Japanese and can provide language courses at all levels. The position is to be based on the following disciplines, in no preferential order and by no means exhaustive: Classical Literature, Modern Literature, Philosophy, Intellectual History, History of Contemporary Culture, Sociology of Contemporary Culture, Anthropology of Contemporary Culture. The person recruited will participate in the life of the department by taking on responsibilities such as supervising French or Japanese tutors, or preparing and taking part in the pre-entry course, classifying students on Parcours Sup, monitoring French and Japanese students under exchange agreements.

The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of pedagogical tools, possibly digital. Competence in ICTE is desirable.

He/she will be able, depending on his/her specialist discipline, to carry out part of his/her service in cross-disciplinary teaching in the department (literature, linguistics, humanities) or in cross-disciplinary teaching at the bachelor's and master's levels of INALCO.

He/she is likely to teach in English.

The candidate will be expected to invest in the life and operation of the department, in reflection on the evolution of training courses, and in student supervision.

Depending on his/her specialties, the recruited teacher-researcher will be able to join an Inalco team of his/her choice, including:

The IFRAE wishes to recruit a teacher-researcher specializing in Japan in the field of Japanese studies. Special consideration will be given to specialists in the following disciplines or fields: Classical Literature, Modern Literature, Philosophy, Intellectual History, History of Contemporary Culture, Sociology of Contemporary Culture, Anthropology of Contemporary Culture. Candidates must have a high scientific level and be involved in national and international research networks. A relevant research project, in line with the existing axes of this team, is expected. An interest in East Asian issues (China, Korea, Mongolia, Nepal, Tibet, Vietnam) is essential, as is a taste for teamwork and scientific leadership.
