This document inaugurates a series that will, at regular intervals, provide an overview of the projects, priorities and collective dynamics that structure research at our establishment. It follows on from the premières Assises de la recherche held in January 2025, which laid the groundwork for joint reflection on our scientific future.

This booklet has been designed as a faithful reflection of the many facets of research conducted at Inalco. It testifies to the diversity of the subjects studied, the approaches mobilized and the fields invested by our teams.

Languages, cultures, societies, religious practices, geopolitical issues, digital, environment, health, migrations... the themes tackled cross cultural areas often little visible in the French academic landscape but central to understanding major contemporary transformations.

Beyond the themes, this booklet also reveals the ability of Inalco's researchers to cross disciplines, develop innovative tools, particularly digital ones, and include their work in today's major scientific and societal debates: open science, research ethics, valuing the diversity of knowledge.

Finally, this booklet pays tribute to the collective commitment of the research units, all of which contributed to its development by identifying flagship projects. It also highlights the central role played by young researchers in this constantly renewing landscape.

We invite you to explore this booklet as a gateway to a unique scientific ecosystem, rooted in the world's languages and cultures, and resolutely focused on the future.
