The Centre d'Etude et de Recherche sur les Littératures et les Oralités du Monde boasts unique local, national and international expertise in the oral and written arts and literatures of the five continents, composed in languages little or not studied at all in both French and foreign universities. The work of the center's researchers covers almost thirty geocultural areas in Eastern Europe, the Near and Middle East, Asia, America and Africa.

The CERLOM "Paroles en miroir" series is published by Editions Karthala (Paris). It is open to all forms of orality (theater, epic, mytho-history, tales and songs). This bilingual series brings readers closer to the materiality of languages and the diversity of cultures in Africa, America, Asia and Europe.
