Events and Cultural Action Department

Missions
The Service de l'événementiel et de l'action culturelle (SEAC) offers students, teachers, staff members and the general public a cultural and events program, linked to the Instut's cultural areas. The aim is to raise awareness of Inalco as a major venue for the expression of cultural diversity.
Activities
Events
With over 400 events a year, Inalco's events program is rich and plural, reflecting the civilizations taught at the Institute. These include film screenings and debates on world cinema, conferences on current international affairs and live performances.
Some examples:
- European Heritage Days - opening of the Maison de la Recherche;
- Film screenings as part of the Regards Comparés, in partnership with the Festival international Jean Rouch ;
- Journées du patrimoine culturel immatériel ;
- Professional roundtables on cultural professions;
- Journées culturelles des associations étudiantes.
Cultural action
The events and cultural action department (SEAC) develops cultural action through partnerships with cultural institutions. Throughout the year, special rates are offered to Inalco students, teachers and staff.
Cultural action also includes a "Panier Culture" for students at the low price of €15, enabling them to take advantage of several cultural outings selected from the year's key events: exhibitions, cinema screenings, shows, and plenty of other surprises.
Finally, SEAC offers students free cultural activities every Friday afternoon during the academic year: workshops in artistic practice with professionals, guided tours of exhibitions, career visits to partner cultural institutions.
Science and society
The events and cultural action department, in conjunction with the deputy vice-president research (open science, digital humanities, science and society), contributes to bringing science and society closer together. Through events for the general public and the development of diverse partnerships (cultural, CSTI, local authorities), SEAC encourages the sharing of knowledge, mediation and the popularization of science.
