Different Perspectives on the Fairy Tale
A one-day seminar organised by PLIDAM to mark the publication of the *Dictionnaire critique des contes* (CNRS Editions, May 2026), edited by Jean-Loïc LE QUELLEC.
To mark the publication of Critical Dictionary of Fairy Tales, edited by Jean-Loïc LE QUELLEC, the one-day conference ‘Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Fairy Tales’ will focus on this work, a major reference on fairy tales in their various forms. It brings together nearly 80 researchers from several countries: Italy, Quebec, the United States, Spain, and, predominantly, France. This Critical Dictionary of Fairy Tales underscores the importance and significance of orality, both as a scientific discipline and as an expression of one of the genres of oral literature, which finds expression and adaptation in a variety of cultural forms.
