Organized by the Groupement d'Intérêt Scientifique Études asiatiques (GIS Asie), these awards are a flagship action to support young researchers. They distinguish three outstanding theses, defended in 2022 and 2023, in all disciplines of the humanities and social sciences, focusing on Asia.

Awarded €3,000 each, these prizes are intended as a priority to support the publication of the winning theses, to enable their dissemination to the scientific community and beyond.

The jury is made up of members of the Scientific Council of GIS Asia, to whom external experts may be added. It is chaired by a member of GIS management.
