Co-founded by the École normale supérieure (ENS-PSL), the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilisations (Inalco) and the Primo Levi Centre (CPL), the Chair of Hospitality (CdH) is based on the following observation: one cannot conceive of today’s world without considering hospitality, and one cannot conceive of hospitality without taking into account the psychological, cultural, social and political dynamics it entails.

The Chair advocates the idea that hospitality shapes the way we form society, produce knowledge, conceive of the law, practise care and organise institutions.

The Chair aims to be an innovative space in which to reflect on and practise hospitality. It is particularly interested in the ways in which our spaces and times become hospitable or not.
