Marine animals and oceanic literature in Taiwan: An interview with the Taiwanese writer Liao Hung-chi
Liao Hung-chi has been invited to INALCO as part of the Taiwan Spotlight Programme – 台灣光點計畫 – organised by the Taiwanese Ministry of Culture, and on the initiative of the Chair in Taiwanese Studies at INALCO.
How does the sea shape the way we view the world, animals and ourselves?
Through a discussion with the Taiwanese writer Liao Hung-chi 廖鴻基, participants will be invited to discover Taiwan’s marine life and the place of the ocean in Taiwanese literature. The discussion will explore how the sea, observations of the marine world and the relationship between humans and the ocean inspire his writing.
