Manga. What an art!

Admired by several generations of readers, manga has conquered France and the world, whether aimed at teenagers (shonen for boys, shojo for girls) or adults (seinen, josei, seijin...) But do you know its origins? Through original plates and magazines, set against objects and graphic works from our collections, the exhibition Manga. Tout un art ! lifts the veil on the birth and complex evolution of Japanese comics. From millennia-old traditions to early Western influences, from the satirical press to the first steps of cartooning, from the creativity of the master mangakas of the 20th^th and 21st^th centuries to their influence on fashion and haute couture, the manga galaxy will no longer hold any secrets for you!

As part of the exhibition Manga. Tout un art !, the Musée Guimet is teaming up with Inalco to give the floor to students wishing to become "young cultural mediators" during the "nocturne jeune" on December 18. These students will offer visitors a mediation service based on various objects in the exhibition.
