After the success of the édition 2025, which had brought together numerous alumni around moments of exchange and transmission, the Association des Anciens Élèves et Amis des Langues Orientales (AAÉALO) is pleased to invite you to another edition of its great annual evening.

This evening will take place in person at the Maison de la Recherche. It will be an opportunity to catch up with old comrades, expand your professional network and meet alumni from different generations in a convivial setting.

The opening round table can also be attended remotely, online, upon registration.

Program

Round table - Living and working internationally after Inalco: career paths and feedback

As part of this 2026 edition, the alumni evening will feature the career paths of Inalco alumni who have built their professional lives internationally.

This round table will be an opportunity to discover the diversity of their trajectories, the conditions under which they settled abroad, the realities of working in a variety of cultural contexts, as well as the learning gained from these experiences.

The speakers will also share their views on what Inalco has brought to their journeys, the intercultural skills mobilized along the way, and the concrete challenges of living and working internationally.

  • Valérie Moschetti
    Executive Director / Chief Operating Officer - European Business Council in Japan
    Based in Tokyo for many years, Valérie Moschetti leads an international career in public affairs, strategy and business development, with experience in Africa, Europe and Japan.
  • Louise Marchand
    Partnerships Coordinator - Baan Dek Foundation
    Installed in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Louise Marchand works in the associative sector and international development, where she coordinates partnerships in the service of social and educational projects.
  • Nicolas Bernier
    Consultant and founder of an environmental social enterprise in Indonesia
    After a career in strategic analysis at the French Ministry of Defense, Nicolas Bernier created a structure in Indonesia committed to the fight against plastic pollution and the development of environmental solutions with social impact.
  • François Tavernier
    Chief Executive Officer - Kosmos Lifestyle Company
    Based in Vietnam for many years, François Tavernier leads an international career in consulting, development and entrepreneurship. After several experiences in strategy and business development in Southeast Asia, notably with BCG, he now runs a company in Vietnam specializing in the development of cosmetics brands.

    University Professor - Viceprésident délégué à la valorisation et à la responsabilité environnementale de l'Inalco - Responsable scientifique et technique du projet DEPHI 2030 (ANR-France 2030) - Membre du CA de l'AAÉALO
    Economist and university professor at Inalco, Julien Vercueil specializes in the economies of Russia, the former USSR and the BRICS. His teaching and research focus on international economics, transition and emergence trajectories, and regional economic restructuring. As moderator, he will bring to this roundtable both an academic and institutional perspective on the international careers of alumni.
