"RESSACS - a Tuareg story" is a personal quest, a generational transmission. It is a filmmaker's hieratic journey into the memory of his people. In the form of an intimate letter from the director to his son, the film tells the story of the Kel Ansar - the suzerain tribe in the Timbuktu region from which the author hails - - the history, resistance and culture of the Tuareg. Shaken by colonization, sedentarization, droughts, rebellions and cyclical exile, the Tuaregs are attempting their ultimate survival. At once a testimony to ongoing conflicts and a storytelling tale, the film is also an existential journey, between sand and sea, exile and living memory.

Projection followed by a discussion with Nadia Bélalimat, anthropologist, Daniela Merolla (PU, Inalco), and Louis Bastin, film editor and co-producer.
