山海间的民族、传说与世界想象 - Peoples, legends and imaginaries of the world between seas and mountains
Lecture as part of the seminar "L'âge pionnier de la sinologie: auteurs classiques et questions disciplinaires (III)".

In this lecture, Professor Wang Mingming of Peking University will draw on the study entitled "The Legend of Kunlun Mountain and the Qiang and Rong Peoples", written in 1950 by Chinese folklorist and historian Gu Jiegang, to examine the processes of inter-regional convergence between ethnicities, literature and philosophical thought during the pre-Qin period (i.e. before the political unification effected by the Qin Empire in 221 BC). Through this re-reading, he aims to contribute to a "supra-societal" anthropology, oriented towards overcoming artificial boundaries between human groups, but also between nature and culture.
The lecture will be given in Chinese.
