Third annual glorisun forum "Beyond Civilizational Clash: The Coalescence of Human Civilization
On July 9 and 10, 2025, Inalco will be hosting the annual Buddhist Studies Forum in Paris, sponsored by the Glorisun Global Network for Buddhist Studies and co-organized by Frogbear, Inalco's Centre d'études interdisciplinaires sur le bouddhisme (CEIB) and the Inalco Foundation.

An international scientific event
Organized with the support of the Glorisun Charity Foundation, the China Britain Trust for the Promotion of Buddhist Studies and major academic partners such as the universities of Peking, Cambridge, Princeton, Oxford, Yale, UBC and Harvard, this forum welcomes renowned specialists to Inalco for six cycles of lectures on the texts, religious practices and contemporary issues of Buddhism.
At the heart of the program, four major simultaneous international conferences (on July 9 and 10, 2025) will highlight current and cross-cutting themes:
- Production and dissemination of religious texts in Chinese societies
- Buddhism and global governance: artificial intelligence, regional and religious conflicts, climate change
- Buddhism and art: transregional and intercultural perspectives
- Buddhism and grassroots East Asian religions: local transformations and everyday dynamics
These encounters offer a unique opportunity for dialogue between disciplines, religious traditions and cultural contexts.
