2026 Elections
The Board of Directors and the Scientific Council
Elections for the general renewal of elected members on these two councils will take place from 2 to 4 December at 12 noon for the first round, and from 9 to 11 December for the second round.
The Board of Directors and the Scientific Council are the central bodies where the Institute’s general policy is decided and its rules of procedure are determined. Students therefore play an important role in these bodies, and only a high turnout will ensure that your representatives have legitimate standing during debates.
Each student votes for the representatives of their respective group (‘first-year undergraduate students’, ‘PhD students’ or ‘other students’). Student representatives are committed to defending your interests on the Board of Governors and the Scientific Council alongside representatives of the teaching and administrative staff.
All students duly enrolled at Inalco are eligible to vote and stand for election to the Board of Governors.
On the Academic Board, students duly enrolled at Inalco on a postgraduate programme (PhD students) are eligible to vote.
Departmental councils
Elections for the general renewal of student representatives on the departmental councils will be held from 2 to 4 December at 12 noon (single round).
Each department at Inalco has its own council. Issues specific to the running of each department are discussed there with the student representatives. The number of representatives varies from department to department.
Students enrolled on a degree programme offered by a department are eligible to vote and stand for election to the departmental council’s student representatives’ body.
Students enrolled in two departments may vote in each of the departments in which they are enrolled.
Students enrolled on Master’s programmes vote twice: once to elect their representative to the Council of the Department of Linguistic and Regional Studies to which the Oriental language they are studying is attached, and once to elect their representative to the Council of Master’s Programmes.
The Council for Study Programmes and Student Life
Elections to renew the student representatives on the CFVE will be held from 2 December to 4 December at 12 noon (single round).
The CFVE’s remit is to develop, coordinate and manage the degree programmes offered at Inalco (national bachelor’s and master’s degrees and institutional qualifications). It initiates and organises discussions within the institution regarding the range of courses on offer and teaching practices.
All students duly enrolled at Inalco on a degree programme during the 2026–2027 academic year are eligible to vote. There are six seats to be filled (6 full members and 6 substitutes).
