Bernard Lory Immersion Scholarships - Europe Department

Description

The Inalco Foundation will award, in close collaboration with the Europe Department, a maximum of six language immersion scholarships to deserving students for the summer of 2026, in addition to the support they may otherwise receive at Inalco.

The scholarship covers the 17 languages covered by the Department (Albanian, Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian, Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian, Finnish, Modern Greek, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Sorbian, Ukrainian) as well as Rromani. It enables a stay in the country of a minimum of three weeks from June to August 2026 inclusive.

The amount of each scholarship is set at 500 euros net.

Pre-requisites

The selection criteria for awarding the scholarship are as follows:

• the student's attendance, seriousness and motivation;
• the student's involvement and commitment to his/her course;
• the coherence and justification of the project, presented in a letter;
• the quality of the student's CV and experience.

Indicative timetable

• March 16 to April 10, 2026: submission of applications by email to
• May 15, 2026: communication of results to winners
• June 2026-August 2026: immersion stays
• September-October 2026: informal feedback in the presence of the donor and members of the Europe Department
