The Confucian revival in contemporary China and its relationship to time

lecture given by Sébastien Billioud, Professor of Chinese Studies at Université Paris Cité and member of IFRAE

What relationship to time does the Confucian revival that has been observable in China for over twenty years present? While such a question primarily concerns the temporality specific to a limited and clearly identified social phenomenon, it also constitutes a starting point for a broader reflection on the evolutions of the "regime of historicity" that prevails today in contemporary China.
