Professor emeritus at the school, she had established herself as a reference in the linguistics of Oceanic languages, notably participating in the development of an introductory method to the Tahitian language (Tahitien: Ia Ora Na: initiation à la langue tahitienne, 1999) and the translation of several writings. Deeply committed to the preservation of Kanak languages, and more particularly Ajië - of which she was a specialist - she had devoted several books and articles to them, including La Langue de Houailou, Nouvelle-Calédonie : description phonologique et description syntaxique(1976) and "Les langues kanak, des langues en danger" (published in Langues et cité, 2014).
With this message, we would like to pay tribute to her today. We join in the grief of her loved ones and those who knew her.
