International students, welcome to Inalco!

These students will spend one or two semesters taking courses in French as a Foreign Language (FLE), as well as language, civilization, and thematic courses tailored to their academic interests. Their main countries of origin—South Korea, Japan, China, Italy, and Turkey—together with many others from across Europe and beyond, illustrate the richness of Inalco’s partnerships.
To facilitate their integration, a dedicated Welcome Day was organized. The program included a presentation of Inalco and its services, stands hosted by student associations and institutional partners, a practical workshop on “How to Choose Your Courses,” a campus tour led by Inalco students as part of the Buddy Programme, and an intercultural workshop designed to encourage the first exchanges between students.
At the same time, Inalco’s Com2i program (Intercultural and international communication) is hosting around fifteen students for the 2025–2026 academic year as part of the Eurocampus program within the EMICC network. This initiative brings together nine European universities specializing in intercultural communication and offers an intensive, interdisciplinary semester, preparing participants for careers in multicultural and multilingual environments.
Inalco also welcomes international students each year enrolled in full degree programs. Unlike semester exchanges, these students come on an individual mobility basis and pursue complete degree courses at Inalco. They represent a wide range of countries: Algeria, Canada, China, the United States, Guinea, Morocco, Mongolia, Russia, Senegal, Ukraine, and Vietnam. Their presence makes a significant contribution to the diversity and dynamism of Inalco’s academic programs and student life.
Through the richness of their backgrounds, the variety of their origins, and their active engagement in academic life, international students play a vital role in enhancing Inalco’s reputation and strengthening its unique position in higher education in the fields of languages and cultures.
