Introductory courses for 25 languages: applications until September 16, 2021!

Inalco offers a formula adapted to people who want to discover and learn a language without having to invest in a long course leading to a diploma. With 10 more languages on offer from the start of the 2021 academic year, these introductory courses are now open to 25 languages.

From September 2021, introductory courses are now open for 25 languages: Amharic, Armenian, Bengali, Burmese, Greek, Hausa, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Khmer, Kurdish, Mandingo, Mongolian, Persian, Peul, Pilipino, Polish, Siamese, Tamil, Tibetan, Turkish, Vietnamese, Wolof, Yoruba,
Urdu.


These short courses, with a total duration of 52 hours spread over two semesters (one 26-hour course in each semester), do not award a diploma.
They earn European credits.
They earn European credits (6 ECTS) for students with a baccalaureate or higher diploma.
They are open to students without a baccalaureate.
They are also open to students without a baccalauréat, who will not be able to validate ECTS credits.

They provide access to the library and language laboratories.

Training objectives

These courses are suitable for anyone wishing to discover one of these languages (out of curiosity, with a view to a trip, as part of a professional project, etc.) but who does not wish to or cannot commit to a long course such as a school diploma or bachelor's degree.



They enable students to acquire a range of language skills: written and oral comprehension, written and oral expression, grammar, etc.

Who are these introductory courses for?

  • priority to students on the Tempo course (two-year L1)
  • .

  • to students already enrolled in the Licence program (L2 and L3), who can choose these courses as UE4 free EC
  • .

  • to Master's students enrolled in a minor
  • .

  • to external public, baccalaureate holders or non-baccalaureate holders, depending on available places
  • .

When and how to register?

For external audiences, these courses are accessible only via registration for Passeport Langues O' - Option 1 (6 ECTS)
