Miroir, mon beau miroir... at the Louvre, the ideal self across eras and cultures
On Friday, April 3, 2026 from 6pm to 8:30pm, the "Campus Louvre" nocturne will bring together students from various schools on the theme of "Images and self-esteem". This year, students from Inalco's Com2i (Intercultural and International Communication) program have had the honor of once again being selected to take part. You'll therefore be able to find their cultural mediations during this exceptional evening.
Every year, the "Campus Louvre" program gives students the chance to take part in a special evening event at the prestigious Musée du Louvre. Selected students become cultural mediators for the evening. It's an opportunity for them to take a unique and innovative approach to the works of art, and to transform the museum into a lively place where dialogue, the transmission of knowledge and humanity come first. Each year, the nocturnes focus on a specific theme. On April 3, the theme is beauty and self-image.
This broad theme led students in the Com2i program to reflect at length on the "self" and its representations. Students of "Oriental" language and culture as well as intercultural and international communication, they will present a unique reading of several Louvre objects chosen by them. You'll be able to discover their intercultural mediation proposals on different objects and works illustrating multiple facets of self-representation across eras and cultures.
Sensitive to exchange and sharing, the students have worked on quality mediations that put these values at the heart of their project. They will tackle subjects as diverse as, ornaments, aesthetics through gold or death... So many subjects that these passionate students will be delighted to help you discover.
The Com2i stream, or Intercultural and International Communication stream, offers students enrolled in one of the languages taught at Inalco specialized training in organizational communication in a multilingual and multicultural context at international, national and local level. This year, L3 students will be presenting the "Campus Louvre" mediations, bringing together students of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Greek, Turkish and Yoruba, among others.
