‘Am I a refugee?’
Survival strategies of Syrians in urban areas in Turkey and Jordan
20 €
Presentation
By focusing on the survival strategies of Syrian refugees, this book aims to capture the experience of exile in all its complexity.
Between 2011 and 2024, more than 6 million people had to leave Syria. Many of them went into exile in neighbouring countries, notably Turkey and Jordan. Based on fieldwork carried out between 2016 and 2017, the author analyses the survival strategies adopted by refugees in these two countries and shows that they are influenced by different relations of domination (race, gender, social class).
