Important information for candidates wishing to apply for DL Intermediate or Advanced Literary Arabic
To apply for direct admission to DL Intermediate or DL Advanced, you must pass a placement test, before submitting your application. You will then apply for only one diploma, depending on your test result and the message displayed at the end of the test.
The placement tests are taken online and can be accessed at the following link: https://moodleplus.inalco.fr (in the "Arabic levels DL intermediate and DL advanced" tab).
Before taking the test of your choice, you will need to create a user account and log in with your first and last name. The score obtained in the placement test will be used as proof of your level for possible admission to the intermediate or advanced DL.
The test to enter the intermediate DL covers all the lessons in L. Deheuvels' Méthode d'arabe littéral, volume 1. The test to enter advanced DL covers all the lessons in L. Deheuvels' Méthode d'arabe littéral, volume 2.
Before taking the placement test, it is recommended that you work through all the lessons in this manual.
As this test determines your level for possible admission to the corresponding diploma, it is useless and counterproductive to have a third party help you.
No admission to Intermediate DL or Advanced DL will be offered if the candidate has not completed the placement test before June 15, 2025.
Candidates who have validated the introductory diploma or L1 face-to-face - Literal Arabic, and wish to apply for the distance diploma corresponding to the higher level (DL intermediate or DL advanced) must necessarily submit their application on the eCandidat platform. They do not need to take the placement test, but must provide their transcript from the diploma validated in the classroom (initiation or L1).
