This roundtable explores the role of Catholic education in Vietnam in the face of the upheavals of the XXᵉ century, from French colonization to the economic opening of the 1990s. Through a historical, sociological and religious approach, it examines how the Church contributed to the formation of elites, the preservation of Catholic identity, and the adaptation to successive political regimes. The contributions also shed light on Vatican diplomacy, the evolution of educational institutions, and the resilience strategies of Catholic communities in a context of war, repression and modernization. This reflection opens a dialogue on the interactions between religion, education and society in processes of national transformation.
