Forough Farrokhzâd (1935-1967) is one of the greatest voices of 20th century Iranian poetry. The evocative power of her poetic work, the acuity of her judgments and the quite exceptional freedom with which she led her life make her an icon of world literature and of female emancipation in the 20e century.

On the occasion of the simultaneous publication of J'irai jusqu'au rivage du soleil, edition and translation of Forough Farrokhzâd's complete poetic works by Leili Anvar (Gallimard) and her Œuvres en prose, selected, translated and presented by Sébastien Jallaud (Les Belles Lettres), we invite you to an exceptional evening that will begin with an inaugural lecture by Farzaneh Milani (Professor Emeritus at the University of Virginia) on the life and work of Forough Farrokhzad. It will be followed by a discussion between Leili Anvar (writer, translator and lecturer at INALCO) and Sébastien Jallaud (Translator and publisher), moderated by Julie Duvigneau (translator, lecturer at INALCO where she co-directs the Persian section).
