Meetings with Krikor Beledian

The Centre de Recherche Europes-Eurasie-CREE (Inalco), the Société des études arméniennes, Le Cercle des Amis de Krikor Beledian, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and BULAC invite you to meetings with Krikor Beledian on the occasion of his 80ᵉ birthday.

Argumentary of the scientific event

les Rencontres avec Krikor Beledian offer an exceptional cycle of four public interviews, two in French and two in Armenian, devoted to the author's literary, critical and philosophical work.

Each interview, lasting one hour, will be followed by an exchange with the audience.

The meetings will be accessible on site and via Zoom and recorded for later broadcast.

- 2pm-5pm : Interviews in French and Armenian languages with Krikor Beledian

  • Catherine Coquio, professor of Université Paris Cité, major specialist in comparative literature (speech in French language)
  • Christian Batikian, writer and lecturer at Inalco (speech in Armenian language)

These meetings will address Beledian's poetics, the forms of testimony, the displacements of language, as well as the theoretical and translinguistic stakes of his work, considered at the crossroads of world literatures.

  • Marc Nichanian, philosopher and professor (speech in Armenian language)
  • Valentina Calzolari, Professor of University of Geneva, specialist in Armenian literature (speech in French language)

These sessions will explore the philosophical, aesthetic and linguistic dimensions of Beledian's work, in direct dialogue with him, and place his work at the heart of contemporary critical debates.

- 6pm-8pm : Preview screening of the film Le jardin qui t'a rêvé

Le Jardin qui t'a rêvé, directed by Jasmine Razarian, with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, offers an intimate and rare look at the intellectual journey, voices and places that run through Krikor Beledian's work.
