On the right bank of the Nam Ou, the mountainous forests of the Nyot Ou district are home to tea bushes whose leaves have been harvested for some twenty years by the Yao families who live on this territory to produce Sheng Pu'er, a sun-dried green tea. The Comité de Coopération avec le Laos (CCL) has supported the producers in developing the industry and creating their cooperative, Nyot Ou Tea.

Trained in history and socio-anthropology, Anthony Guéguen has been a project advisor with the Comité de Coopération avec le Laos (CCL) since September 2013. After two years' experience in Xiengkhouang province, he focused his activity on the management of rural development projects in Nyot Ou district, where he notably contributed to the support and establishment of the Nyot Ou Tea cooperative.
