The L1+ pathway
In addition to the traditional bachelor's degree, Inalco is offering two courses for the first year which are designed to help students succeed, in the form of special bachelor's degrees: the LLCER Parcours L1+ bachelor's degree and the LLCER Parcours Tempo bachelor's degree.
The L1+ pathway is aimed at L1 LLCER students. It offers individual monitoring and training modules designed to help students succeed.
The LLCER L1+ degree, like the “classic” degree, is a 3-year programme. It includes teaching units common to the classic LLCER bachelor's degree (UE1, UE2 and UE3), with the particularity that the last teaching unit (UE3) contains subjects from the classic bachelor's degree and subjects specific to the L1+ pathway. These specific courses are common to the Tempo pathway.
Who is the L1+ success path for?
It is addressed to students who have received a "Yes if" response on Parcoursup with the obligation to register in the L1+ pathway with the accommodation code AM19.
Registrations
There are two types of registration: administrative registration (IA), which validates your enrolment at Inalco, and pedagogical registration (IP), which takes place at the start of the academic year and allows you to register the courses you have taken, whether compulsory or chosen.
Once you have done your administrative registration (IA), please proceed to your pedagogical registration (IP) online. Watch the video ‘L1+, bien démarrer son année’ at the bottom of this page, to see how your enrolment works and to understand how to complete your online pedagogical enrolment correctly.
Who should I contact if I have a question about enrolment?
If you have any questions about enrolment in the subjects (known as "ateliers") included in the L1+ programme, please contact the Licence+ teaching managers (R.E.V.E. department), at View e-mail.
Please note! For any questions concerning enrolment in subjects common to the traditional bachelor's degree, please contact your language manager.
How do I know if I'm enrolled in the right pathway?
Once you've registered for your course, refer to your study contract (or educational contract) on which you'll find the following indications: "Version" and "Parcours plus ou Parcours L1+".
If the version number displayed is 251, you are indeed enrolled in the L1+ pathway. (See image below)

L1+ course presentation
There are two ways of doing the first year of the bachelor's degree at Inalco: either by joining the classic course, or by joining the Licence+ programme, which is itself divided into two specialised courses, the L1+ course and the Tempo course.
Students enrolled on the L1+ pathway must therefore take a limited and defined number of courses from the traditional licence in UE3, as well as 3 teaching modules integrated into the licence+, which are common to the L1+ and Tempo pathways.
These common courses are combined in three specific modules:
Module for personalising the study programme:
Students receive individual support from a director of studies in the L1+ and Tempo programmes (study plans, career guidance). Appointment required. (More details on the following video)
Training module (compulsory courses):
- A ‘Tools internship’ workshop.
- An ‘Anatomy of a Language and Culture’ course to explore languages and cultures in depth, with an emphasis on the practical aspects of university methodology.
Personalised support module (compulsory courses):
- Language or civilisation tutoring
- And one of the courses (called "ateliers") listed below:
French (if not studied in UE1), OR
Methodology support (if not studied in UE1), OR
Writing, OR
English

TESTIMONIALS
TESTIMONIALS
Testimony of a student enrolled in the L1+ pathway in 2019-2020
Soundarya, a first-year Tamil student, tells us about her L1+ experience.
Soundarya decided to put her passion for languages to good use by enrolling at Inalco. For this new student, the L1+ meeting and tool courses were a great way to get her first year off to a good start.
The memorisation and note-taking tools courses, which are designed to introduce students to essential aspects of university work, helped her to find the working method that suited her and to adopt a new rhythm. What's more, she says that thanks to the relaxed atmosphere and the kindness of the teacher, she felt more at ease expressing herself without fear of being judged or mocked during exchanges with other students.
As part of the Anatomy of a Language and Culture workshops, Soundarya helped to design the interactive game Cosmo. In this way, while learning about linguistics in a fun way, she was able to showcase her qualities and make suggestions for bringing the project to fruition. And that's why the enthusiasm generated by the game lasted despite the confinement.
Soundarya has also been able to work on her self-confidence in the drama workshop. Little by little, she has been able to overcome her shyness and meet new friends, with whom she has built up relationships. She even confides that it is now much easier for her to go out and open up to others.
Finally, the meeting with her counsellor was a way for her to see how she had progressed throughout the year. With the support of her guidance counsellor, she has been able to ask herself the right questions about her future direction, and is now looking ahead with much greater confidence.
