Key figures for 2024

The year 2024 marks a decisive milestone for the Inalco Foundation, which has reached cruising speed and confirmed its role as a strategic partner serving Inalco's missions. In a demanding international context, the Foundation has continued to roll out large-scale projects, strengthened its structuring and consolidated a philanthropic model based on co-construction and academic excellence.

Discover the figures that illustrate the scale of this dynamic:

  • 6.6 million euros raised since the Foundation's creation to fund projects and resources at the service of Inalco,
  • More than 50 projects that have reached various stages of completion, covering teaching, research and society,
  • 32 partnerships, contributing to the support and deployment of its missions;
  • 70 events, dedicated to research, international geopolitical and cultural issues, and open to different audiences;
  • 20 immersion and research grants, aimed at supporting learning through fieldwork and direct experience;
  • 21 thesis prizes, designed to support and promote young research, among academic communities and the general public.

An action structured around three axes: teaching, research and society

Among the emblematic projects for 2024 are the inauguration of the Chair for the Arts and Heritage of Afghanistan, the deployment of the program for the documentation and preservation of Armenian heritage, and the strengthening of the Chair for Buddhist Studies in the Contemporary Chinese World, which gives Paris a leading international profile. These initiatives testify to the Foundation's ongoing commitment to research, the transmission of knowledge and the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage.

These advances rely on a cofinancing model associating public and private players, as well as on a network of loyal and new partners, including the Fondation ALIPH, the Fondation Calouste Gulbenkian, the Fondation Rothschild, the CNRS, the Fondation Sheng Yen, the Fondation Tzu Chi, the Fondation Loden, and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie.

The Inalco Foundation extends its warmest thanks to all its donors, partners and academic and institutional players, whose trust and commitment have made these achievements possible. It is thanks to this collective dynamic that the Foundation approaches the next stage of its development with ambition, rigor and confidence.
