Publication of the Institut Français d'Islamologie's first calls for applications and projects

The Institut Français d'Islamologie (IFI), of which Inalco is a member, aims to strengthen high-level, non-denominational research, teaching and scientific training in Islamology. The IFI's mission is also to promote French research internationally and to act as a link between science and society.

Calls for research projects

The IFI offers financial support for research and scientific events in Islamology. For this call, the Institut Français d'Islamologie offers financial support (between €500 and €2,500) for research and scientific events in the field of Islamology.

For an Islamology of excellence

To fulfill its mission of defining and driving forward research programs in Islamology, the IFI is launching a call for projects "Pour une islamologie d'excellence". The sponsor of these three-year research projects, necessarily a member of the GIP, must involve at least one other French higher education institution, or a UMIFRE.

Edition and translation

The IFI is publishing a call for projects for the scientific edition and translation of texts from the intellectual traditions of Islam into French, as well as the translation of French Islamological works into foreign languages.

IFI end-of-thesis fellowship in Islamology

In order to encourage young research, the IFI is launching end-of-thesis fellowships in Islamology, designed to fund a pre-existing research project, culminating in a thesis written in French.

The IFI is offering financial support for language stays in the Arab world, aimed at M2 or PhD students with a research project in the field of Islamology and who have already received training in Arabic.
