Pre-Semester Workshop for the 2026–2027 Academic Year (Japanese Studies)
Welcome to the Department of Japanese Studies at Inalco! We are offering a pre-semester workshop for complete beginners in Japanese. The goal of this course (which is, of course, free) is to master hiragana and katakana before the start of the school year. The course will take place from September 15 to 18, 2026.

To get your academic year off to a smooth start, we strongly recommend that you begin learning hiragana and katakana during the break. To help you do this, we’ve posted all the necessary resources online, including videos that will guide you throughout your journey of learning kana.
