Inalco's South-East Asia and Pacific Department (ASEP) brings together some twenty lecturers, language assistants and numerous specialists in language, linguistics, literature and the social sciences, making it France's leading centre for higher education in South-East Asia. Research is conducted within areal or disciplinary research teams, and is part of partnerships with Parisian institutions with which Inalco shares the supervision of several research teams.

Vanuatu is a small archipelago in the South Pacific, home to over 130 vernacular languages with an oral tradition. Since the late 2000s, I've seen how the gradual arrival of new technologies has changed the way I work.
