The heritage floors of the Maison de la Recherche have been renovated! In addition to restoring the damaged parts of the first floor mosaics dating from the late 19th century, the renovation company also restored the tiles in the 2nd floor corridor (east wing) and polished the mosaics and marble in the main staircase. These exceptional architectural features have now been restored to their former glory.

On the eve of its fortieth anniversary, the Festival international Jean Rouch, of which Inalco, jury of the Prix Monde en regards, has been a partner since 2012, was awarded a scientific mediation medal at the 1st edition of this distinction initiated by the CNRS and supported by the MESRI.

This collective seminar takes a multidisciplinary approach (history, cultural history, political science, geography, sociology) to a trans-regional theme chosen for the year. With no language prerequisites, it is open to all. It can be taken by Inalco master's (UE2 or UE4) or doctoral students, as well as by students from other establishments, within the framework of agreements with Inalco, or as a master's or doctoral minor, and is worth 4 ECTS per semester.

To celebrate their 10th anniversary at the Pôle des langues et civilisations, BULAC and Inalco will be opening the festivities with the exhibition "Écritures japonaises: concevoir des caractères typographiques" and the eponymous study days, with a theme never before seen in France, exploring Japanese writing. These two events highlight the work and reflections of André Baldinger, typographic artist, and Emilie Rigaud, graphic designer and historian of Japanese typography.
