Linguistics workshop, moderated by Victoria Khurshudyan
"Periphrastic Verbal Constructions in Classical Armenian and Their Diachronic Evolution"

With the participation of Samuel Chakmakjian, Anaïd Donabédian-Demopoulos, Katherine Hodgson, Victoria Khurshudyan, Petr Kocharov, Charles de Lamberterie, Andrea Scala (list not closed).

The workshop will be based on brief presentations of data or work in progress, and will privilege dialogue between speakers. It will address the question of the diachrony of the Armenian verb, both in terms of the renewal of the grammatical categories on which it is built, and the mechanisms that have enabled the emergence of new markers (notably innovation through grammaticalisation and the various types of change induced by contact).
