Inalco is launching the "Les Après-Midis des Humanités Numériques" program, initiated by the Direction de la Recherche, de la Valorisation et des Etudes Doctorales (DIRVED). One session per quarter, a round-table discussion brings together research players to discuss the theme of digital humanities and areal studies at Inalco. This program provides an opportunity to present the various workstreams of Inalco's flagship projects: the LACaS platform and the D-Parsas project.

Inalco launches a five-year Chair in Taiwan Studies funded by the Taiwanese National Science & Technology Council (NTSC), in collaboration with the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARlabs), and the Taipei Representative Office in France (BRTF).
"Regards comparés": Koreas, thwarting destinies - So far, so near

Since 2012, Inalco has been a partner of the Jean Rouch Festival, screening films from the Regards comparés selection in the auditorium. This year, screenings will be held from November 25 to 28 on the theme of Korea. All screenings will be followed by a debate with filmmakers and experts.

Deng Xiaoping (1904-1997) will always be remembered as the architect of China's economic modernization in the late 1970s, then as the man who bloodily suppressed the Tiananmen democracy movement. But to get there, he was a revolutionary, a communist, a Leninist, a Maoist and then an anti-Maoist. This biography puts his unique trajectory into perspective and examines his legacy in the light of the country's evolution, as Xi Jinping's power reaches its zenith and the Cold War with Washington intensifies.
