Nominations open for student elections

In December 2022, student representatives will be elected to all Inalco bodies (first or single round from December 7 to 9, second round from December 14 to 16). For all these elections, candidatures must be submitted between November 21st and December 1st at 12pm.

On Tuesday December 6, 2022, the Inalco Foundation was honored to welcome Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, one of the institute's most illustrious alumni, for a "Grand témoin" conference on the subject of his latest book "Les autres ne pensent pas comme nous", published by Bouquins. Heating at Inalco through the centuries

With the onset of winter, the question of heating the classrooms is on our minds. This is not a new problem; it was already an issue when the school moved to 2 rue de Lille. Heating is of crucial importance at a time when the premises of the École des Langues Orientales are being transformed. The buildings were so fragile that excessive temperature variations could cause dangerous damage.

Les voix du conte" symposium, March 24

The aim of this colloquium, organized by the PLIDAM research team, is to compare different translations of Charles Perrault's famous fairy tale, Les Fées (1697), in some thirty languages. Comparing all these versions will enable us to discuss the difficulties encountered, whether lexical, stylistic or cultural.
