The 40th European Heritage Days will focus on the themes of "Living Heritage" and "Sports Heritage". To mark the occasion, Inalco will be opening the doors of its historic Maison de la Recherche building to the public. See you on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 1pm to 6pm.

The Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (AIBL) has awarded its Herbert Giles Medal to Michel Vieillard-Baron for his annotated edition of "Kokin waka shû, Recueil de poèmes japonais d'hier et d'aujourd'hui" (Les Belles Lettres, 2022), the first imperial anthology of Japanese poetry, compiled around 905.

In November 1973, a demonstration by Polytechnic students in Athens against the colonels' dictatorship was brutally repressed by the military junta in power, following the 1967 coup d'état. Fifty years on, this meeting aims to bring together researchers working on this painful sequence in contemporary Greek society. Echoing the exhibition "The Stone Years. Dissidences et résistances à la dictature des colonels" presented at BULAC, from October 2 to November 4, 2023.

The fifth Inalco-Vo/Vf Translation Prize was awarded to Raphaëlle Pache, literary translator from Russian, for her translation of the novel "The Last Afghan" by Russian writer Alexei Ivanov, published by Rivages/Noir in 2021.

Every year, the SIO-IP organizes a series of career conferences, starting at the beginning of the school year and running throughout the year. Alumni, professors and institutional representatives from ministries and companies come to present the different sectors of activity and profiles in demand, as well as the career prospects available after training at Inalco. The speaker's presentation is followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.
