As part of its "Mapping Networks of Modern Chinese Buddhism: Emerging Patterns and Centralities" lecture series 圖繪近現代漢傳佛教網絡:多模式與多中心的興起, CEIB will welcome Jan Kiely (Geneva Graduate Institute) on Friday, May 31, 2024. He will give the annual "Yin-Cheng Distinguished lecture" in English, a lecture entitled "The Extraordinary Ordinary, Consequential Buddhist Patterns to Huaihai Region History, circa 1880-1960".

On March 14, 2024, the Foundation was delighted to host a signature lecture by Vincent Lefèvre entitled "The Genius of Indian Art". This lecture explored Indian art, providing keys to understanding the codes of this sometimes little-known iconography and architecture.

Michael Barry needs no introduction to those interested in Afghanistan. His career as a man of culture and a man of action is exceptional (professor at the American University in Kabul, professor at Princeton, Islamic art consultant at MoMA, among others). Since the 1980s, he has lived as close as possible to Afghanistan, whose culture he knows intimately, and whose historical convulsions he portrays in his works, endeavoring to place them in the widest possible context.

Inalco's Maison de la Recherche was inaugurated in the heart of Paris's 7th arrondissement on October 19. The event featured three highlights: inaugural speeches in the Georges Dumézil auditorium, a guided tour of the historic building and a cocktail reception in the salons. Speakers included Jean-François Huchet, President of Inalco; Claire Giry, Director General of Research and Innovation at the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation; Anne-Sophie Barthez, Director General of Higher Education and Professional Integration at the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation; Slim Khalbous, Rector of the AUF; and Christophe Kerrero, Rector of the Île-de-France academic region.
