The French Institute of Islamology (IFI) was inaugurated at the Sorbonne on Tuesday November 22, in the presence of Sylvie Retailleau, Minister of Research and Higher Education. Founded in February 2022 as a public interest grouping (GIP), the IFI brings together the MESR and 8 higher education establishments, including Inalco. This is an opportunity for the IFI to report on the progress made on its missions nine months after its creation.

To mark the Chinese New Year and as part of the CNRS Anthropology Focus, the Assises de l'Anthropologie Française des Mondes Chinois (AAFMC) are organizing a day and a half of ethnographic film screenings and debates on Chinese society. The screenings will focus on three themes: minority populations based on historical Chinese propaganda films; Taoist rituals of today; and traditional technical knowledge in present-day China. They will be followed by discussions with the directors, either in person or online: Patrice Fava, Kenneth Dean, Adeline Herrou, Aël Thery, Caroline Bodolec and Catherine Capdeville.

This volume, which brings together fourteen contributions on modern Greek-French contrastive linguistics (GM-F), is the result of a collaborative project involving researchers whose work, or part of their work, focuses on this theme. The initial aim of the project was to bring together linguists working in the GM-F comparative field on a variety of themes and without restriction of theoretical framework, in order to sketch out an up-to-date cartography and take stock of the most significant advances in research.
