Le Cadre d'Orient. Genesis, institutions, actors.

As part of the ENTI seminar, "Écrire, négocier, traduire l'international (XVIIIe-XXIe s.)", proposed by UMR SIRICE, and as part of the Sorbonne Alliance initiatives, this meeting looks back at the tradition of Orientalism and its legacy within French diplomacy. It takes a long-term look at the relationship between Inalco and the Quai d'Orsay, and at the birth of the Cadre d'Orient, highlighting the diversification of the male and female profiles that embody it. She questions Inalco's place in France's cultural diplomacy.
